"Do you keep your starter Pokémon?"

I am going to start Sword over and was thinking of not keeping my starter in my party. I’ve been playing Pokémon since I was a kid. I’ve missed a few releases here and there, but I’ve always no matter what kept my starter pokemon. I don’t know why, I guess I feel like I have to lol.
