"Dear GameFreak: PLEASE stop making Pokémon forms that can’t transfer to later games."

THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH DEXIT. Strictly allowance in to HOME itself. With the announcement of Legends Arceus, something didn’t feel right with me despite my hype. We may very well get “past” forms of existing Pokémon. And then I thought of how horribly wrong this could go.This will be quick, because this problem shouldn’t even be a thing that exists to complain about with Bank and Home existing, but it has to be said; allowing the player to capture/obtain a new form for an existing Pokémon needs to stop unless we can keep them indefinitely. Making new Pokémon forms that you as a company no longer want to model for the next generation NEEDS to end.The entire point of encountering a new form is the collecting side of the games, being able to show off your new awesome Pokémon. The secondary aspect is that imaginative aspect where accruing ribbons/training/playing with the Pokémon gives it a sense of history that bonds it to you. Think of something like having a Manaphy from Pokémon Ranger, or a Shadow Pokémon from Colo/XD. This is completely wasted when you can only interact with said Pokémon in one game while all your others carry up.Seriously, think of the forms that aren’t able to be carried up throughout the generations for completely arbitrary reasons:>Spiky Pichu>Cosplay Pikachu (and it’s super interesting costume forms) completely replaced by Hat Pikachu.>The totems are completely reversed when placed in HOME, meaning that the sticker quest was a time sink for Pokémon that are no different from their regular counterparts.>Partner Pikachu/Eevee which are heinous examples. These are starter Pokémon. STARTER Pokémon, locked in by being HM slaves.>The special “sizes” that were fun to collect in LGPE are completely reverted when placed in HOME. Obviously the size isn’t represented in game, but having a 10 foot Machamp was brag worthy.>Every single special form from Pokémon GO as well. These are explained away with fluff like “oh the starter was too strong” or the one guy who crawls out of the woodwork to say “I never transfer my Pokémon anyway”. Meanwhile the reason is simply that GF does not want to texture another few models. Imagine thinking balancing is the reason when the starters moves were removed and Ash Greninja got the mythical treatment for Battle Spot.I digress...Now imagine if, for some contrived reason, we get forms in newer games that STILL do this. “These Pokémon are from the past! They can’t enter Pokémon HOME!”. The entire history of collecting aspect of the game goes moot, and it’s just a waste of time raising/training the new forms. I’m also paying for a service to transfer Pokémon and can’t transfer them. Maybe I’m alone but this is absurd to me and needs to stop.Edit: formatting via /r/pokemon https://ift.tt/3flY82W
