"A appreciation post for the Pokémon Adventures Manga"

This afternoon I finished reading the GSC arc of the Pokémon Adventures manga, and I liked it a lot so I decided to write this post to let know to as many people as possible about this series.I have found out about this manga series some years ago, when it was first published in my country. I haven't read every arc of the series since I am still a student, and I can't afford buying all of the volumes, but I can tell you the basics of this series! The manga is structured in arcs, each of them telling the story of a group games ( RBY, GSC, RSE etc). The manga picks up the story from the games, but it changes it. It isn't meant to be a faithful adaptation, but rather a homage to the games, and a good one if you ask me. So I think you Poke fans like me are going to love it.To further convince you about this manga series, I'm going to list its pros: - The characters: the protagonists of this series are the main characters of the games, plus the rivals. ALL of the protagonists of the series that I have read so far has a interesting and consistent personality, and they are also quite different from one to another. The antagonists have understandable motivations, and generally they have a plan that makes sense. It is also worth noting that the Gym leaders, that in most cases in the games are just some above average NPCs, in this series are all well characterized, and they are all really competent in Pokémon battles. Speaking of which...The Battles: The Battles in this series are vastly different than the ones in the games, and to make a comparison that many of you will understand, the battles in this manga are similar to the ones in the anime. The trainer can use his Pokémon's ability in whichever way he wants to KO his opponent's Pokémon, even in ways that aren't possible in the games. It is also worth noting that the battles are more dynamic (in fact the trainer is also involved in the fight, and he/she can be hit by an attack, especially in the fights against the bad guys) but also very strategic ( the trainers are free to use theirs Pokémon's abilities the way they want, which allows a lot of possible strategies that can be pulled of).-The Citations: the manga in many occasions makes some citations to the original games. Minor characters, mechanics, places and events are represented, in order to pay homage to the original games. Also, the series incorporates the messages and informations given to the player for gameplay porpouse ( like the moves known by a Pokémon)in the Pokédex, to recreate the experience of playing the game.I shall give credit to Hidenori Kusaka, writer of the manga, as well to Mato and Satoshi Yamamoto, who are responsible of the art. Give a try to their work.I have read this manga only on paper, so I'm not sure were you can find it, but for more informations you can check out r/pokespe, a sub dedicated to the manga. There you can hopefully find informations on where to read it online via /r/pokemon https://ift.tt/3a34xN1
