"Johto has one of the best Early Game Pokémon distributions in the entire franchise"

I just decided to replay Silver again. I had completely forgotten how good the Pokémon distribution is early on. While I know a lot of people hate the way how Gen 2 Pokémon are hard to come by in Johto, I have to give a lot of credit to how well distributed the pokemon are early on.Before you fight the first gym you can get: Pidgey, Sentret, Rattata, Hoothoot, Caterpie, Weedle, Ledyba, Geodude, Bellsprout, Onix, Zubat, Spinarak, Gastly, Spearow, Dunsparce, Unown and JigglypuffThat's an insane amount of variety that didn't we see again for a long time. Only really Sword and Sheild tops it because of the wild area. Maybe Sun/Moon with the SOS feature.It really makes team building at the start of the game so much more interesting than in most pokemon titles. via /r/pokemon https://ift.tt/ZFMvbcr
