"Spawn Mechanics Theory - Keyword mapping"

#PokemonGO: I have a theory that I want to run by you guys.I got onto this because it amazed me that the only place in the city where Charmander spawned was a place called Vulkan (Volcano), Squirtle spawn by the largest fountain in the city and Pikachu spawn at a museum and so on..So my curiosity peaked. What defines where each type spawns? Surely you can get an algorythm to read a map and tell the difference between water, grass and cities. But many players have been reporting spawns that are much more specific than that. Players are reporting pokemon that spawn exclusivly at museums, universities, churches or industrial sites. This is something that can't be read just by looking at different colors on a map and defining that blue is water, green is grass and white are buildings/city. There is more to it than that!My theory is that each type/or specific pokemon spawn in correlation with a keyword map (a list of keywords relevant to that specific type or pokemon)With Google Insights you can do this easily by providing a keyword, and then let Google find thousands of keywords that are similar/correlating to your original word. As a former Google company, Niantec will have a good knowledge about how this works and this could be how they make specific pokemons spawn at specific places.Example: Fire pokemons are triggered by a list of keywords relating to fire, and each time one or more of these keywords are triggered, the chance of a fire pokemon spawning will increase. This can also explain why you sometimes see weird pokemon types spawning in the middle of a city.Example: If a business nearby has something to do with water, they will trigger a water type keyword and spawn water pokemons. I myself have caught a bounch of water type next to a washing service agency.Depending on how many keywords are triggered in a specific place, more pokemons of that type will be likely to spawn. Similar to how SEO/SEM works for those familiar with this.Example: If you have a business triggering a water keyword, the chance of a water type spawning will be X%. But if you have several keywords being triggered in the same spot, such as a beachfront or at the docks, the chance of water type spawning will increase with X%.I can only talk about my city, but im curious to know if this also can make sense other places! So if you're out hunting, check which keywords could relevant to the area you're in and pay attention to what pokemons you catch :) Maybe someday we can find a pattern :)Disclaimer:Minor text fixes may occur. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2aA03iH
