"Specific advice for casual players, who aim to be as competitive as possible"

#PokemonGO: Salamu alaykum, Ni Hao, Bonjour and Hello to the silphroad subreddit,I seek advice for myself and everybody else, who relates to my questions. I understand the basic concepts of the meta game and have a basic grasp of how to play the game as strategically as possible, but some aspects simply don't take into account, that not many people can actually dedicate a lot of time and effort into the game. If it wouldn't be for work and responsibilites, I would be out playing the game every day of the week, but I have to limit myself to casual pokemon hunting every once in a while. Here I want to focus on questions regarding specific choices to make within the gameplay. I would appreciate if you could give me your thoughts on following topics:A: When is it reasonable to stop evolving a specific pokemon and save up the candy in order to power up one of your evolved ones? Of course this regards only Pokemon, which have a use in combat. From my point of experience (lvl 23) it is absolutely unrealistic to hope to evolve a high CP, high IV individual, which happens to get the perfect moveset as well. I got questions about these Pokemon in my squad sofar:Vaporeon - I have 3 of them.. two have IVs beyong 75 and a perfect moveset, but really low cp and one has lower IVs, a worse moveset, but high CPFlareon - 73% - high cp - Ember/HeatWaveHypno - 7 of them in my squad sofar.. again I have two with perfect movesets and one of them with high IVs.. all of them are high CPAs for Vaporeon and Flareon I wonder: Does it make sense for me to evolve more Eevees, so I can get a high cp, high iv Flareon or Vaporeon with a perfect moveset or would you recommend me to just save up the candy and invest it in my 89%, perfect moveset Vaporeon with 797 CP?Drowzees are ridiculously available to me. Even with very casual gameplay I could almost get myself a Hypno every single day, if I really wanted to. Would you recommend me to wait for that High IV and perfect moveset Hypno or should I just get myself one beast Hypno already? Would you recommend me to power up a high IV Hypno or one that has a perfect moveset, but low IV?In order to make this more useful for other people as well: Where would you draw the line for casual players? When is it really worth it to wait? From a casual players perspective: When is it reasonable to think you won't get a better individual?B: As a casual player, Pokemon like Snorlax, Dragonite and even Gyarados are not available to me. If I ever get one, I don't really expect to get another anyway. Because of that, I believe it would be reasonable to rely more on "weaker" Pokemon. Do you think it makes sense, for example, to power up a high IV, perfect moveset Raticate? I mean, that things knows Hyperbeam at least.. do you think Raticate could be a useful Pokemon to casual, but ambitious players? To keep this question a bit more objective: Which "weaker" Pokemon do you think could be rather useful to casual players, who have very low chances of acquiring a Snorlax, Dragonite and so on anyway? Players like us need alternatives to the "best of the best".C: About Gym fights.. do you think it's beneficial for casual players to drop their best pokemons in Gyms or do you reckon leaving an "easy to train" Pokemon is rather helpful? Most of the times.. even if I drop my highest CP Pokemon, it is still bottom or at least not too far away from that. From this perspective, do you think I got higher chances in droping a "weak" pokemon with the hope of somebody coming along and bosting it to a level 9 or 10 gym? Is there a logical thing to do for a casual player?I hope you will be able to help me out here. Also I would to urge other casual players to leave their opinions and thoughts on these issues.Kind regards,Vesta via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2eGbERt
