"Pro-tip: Some Poké Ball capture rates were revamped (or why Nest and Timer Balls are cool bros now)"

With the release of SM, some of the catch rates for certain Poké Balls were updated. The most critical ones were made to Nest and Timer Balls.Nest BallA Ball that works better on Pokémon of a lower levelPrevious formula was (40 - Level)/10 so, the maximum catch rate for this Ball was x3.8 for a level 2 Pokémon. Minimum is x1 (same as a Poké Ball), reached at level 30.New formula is (8-0.2*(Level - 1)) which now gives a maximum catch rate multiplier of x7.8 for a level 2 Pokémon. Minimum is still 1, reached now at level 36. This is huge, specially for early routes that give relatively hard to catch Pokémon like Salamence. At level 12, you'd have a x5.8 catch rate multiplier for a wild Salamence on Route 3 using a Nest Ball (for reference, Ultra Ball multiplier is x2). You also get some Nest Balls early in the game.Timer BallA Ball that works better the longer the battle has runPrevious formula was (Turn + 10) / 10 capped at x4 multiplier, which would require a whopping 40 turns to reach.New formula is (1+.3*Turn Number) still capped at x4 maximum, which you reach now in a mere 10 turns :)http://ift.tt/2fpzEGx via /r/pokemon http://ift.tt/2giJZDC
