"[Research Results] Evolution items usable for only 1 species are rarer (Comparative rarity of evolution items results)"

#PokemonGO: The results are here!Boy oh boy, I've enjoyed watching all the responses coming on on the google form so much. If you haven't submitted anything you can still submit it via this link: http://ift.tt/2lGg60t a quick recap of the research question:Are all evolution items just as rare or are some rarer compared to others? Find the original research page here:http://ift.tt/2m65Pyb this moment over 1047 people have filled in the form. Of those 1047 submissions I have had to delete 4 entries from the database. 3 because of highly unlikely amount of items (all 100+) And 1 because the answers were given with yes and no.percentagesSun stone: 24.97%Metal Coat: 23.12%Kings Rock: 22,31%Dragon Scale: 14.74%Upgrade: 14.87%NumbersSun stone: 959Metal Coat: 888Kings Rock: 857Dragon Scale: 566Upgrade: 571total 3841ConclusionUpgrade and dragon scale both make up less than 15% of the total percentage of items received. These are both used to evolve a single species of Pokemon. Sun Stone, Kings Rock and Metal Coat are all making somewhere between 22% and 25%. This, in theory, makes it more likely to get enough items to fill your Pokedex. However Those results only showed after submission of around 50 different people. For example, here are the percentage results of the first 10 submissions:percentagesSun stone: 10.34%Metal Coat: 13.79%Kings Rock: 37.39%Dragon Scale: 10.34%Upgrade: 27.59%This means that even though there is a difference in rarity, you won't necessarily feel like there is. This is due to the very low spawn rate. So very few people at this point have collected enough items by themselves to be statistically significant. And now?A small trend I still see with the incoming numbers is that the single evo items are still declining a little bit. The Sun Stone is quite stable and the other two are trying to balance. I will keep tabs on the still incoming data until I notice that the percentages, to the first digit behind the comma, don't change anymore. Or if submissions are stagnating. If anyone would like to use this data they are welcome to send me a message and I can send you the data in a spreadsheet.Closing noteThanks to everyone who has submitted the form! I have enjoyed this research process very much and it actually supported one of my original hypotheses. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2lDEEHu
