"This event doesn't seem to be ideal for lure grinding."

#PokemonGO: I visited my city's biggest lure spot after the event started and, while it was lit up and busy as usual, I didn't get as much benefit as I expected. There's no bonus to exp or stardust, so the main benefits of lure grinding aren't doubled. All of the event mons except Gastly are 50 candy evos, and none of them are relevant to the gym/raid metagame. Even with twice the candy, a Cubone or Duskull make poor targets for mass evolving. You also miss out on the double buddy/hatching candy if you spend your playing time stationary. The one exception I can think of are lures in water biomes if you're specifically looking for a Gyarados, as they still produce lots of Magikarp and other water mons even during special events.Better strategies for the event seem to be:Visiting nests - Rhyhorn, Geodudes, Machops and other relevant nesting mons can still be farmed, only now it's twice as fast.Raids - There' no better time to do a Tyranitar raid, but even getting 6 legendary candies is pretty handy.Walking - Buddies are twice as effective, and eggs produce double the candy. Walking through a nest or otherwise busy area might also give you more mons to choose from than you would get from simply standing at a lure, and therefore let you avoid the mostly pointless ghosts.Hunting - Whether through a city scanner, or discord, etc. chasing down a rare mon, particularly an evolved form, yields twice the rewards. A Dratini or Larvitar on the radar is now worth up to 14 candies with a pinap. A second evo can get you up to 42.Evolving - Sure it's not double exp, but at least you get two candies per evo, and another two per transfer afterwards. Now is the time to clear out inventory. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2zsVznI
