"The vast majority of players should not be advised to attack without dodging, they need to focus on TDO rather than DPS"

#PokemonGO: I've just experienced a raid which illustrates pretty well my point here,We've beaten a Kyogre/Blizzard with 40sec left, as a team of 8 players of averagely level 35 (I'm 38). None of us had a full team of Raikous, everyone had the most common set up : a couple top-tier attackers, followed by a few acceptable counters. Probably the best team was mine : 3 Raikous (L33) and 3 Jolteons (L33).Some of us dodged one Blizzard here and there when possible (I only do when I won't get the dodge glitch, ie. large green bar), so I was still on my 3rd Raikou while others were already on their last attacker which is significantly worse than their first. The first half of the battle took us about 1 minute but the second half took us over than 3 minutes, that is a massive difference in actual DPS once players resort to low-tier attackers. As a result, I ended up with +3 premier balls from Personal damage, while everyone else had only +1 (including a level 40 player who accidentally rejoined with whatever suggested first and was hitting with Tyranitars instead of reviving his best pokemons, that is also a common yet huge mistake which cost him 2 premier balls. Edit : another smart alternative here).By dodging (except when dodge glitch will apply) you lose small chunks of pure DPS, but you'll lose a lot more DPS once you get to use your weaker attackers. Moreover, you consume more Revives by not dodging (I consumed 9, others consumed over 16), so since everyone is having a problem with Revives, that makes another reason high-level players players should start teaching other players how to dodge, or at least indicate in real-time when to dodge. Instead, they always advise them not to dodgeRight now, everyone has in mind "No dodge = More damage" but that is not realistic/applicable to most players (even myself as a level 38). Any player who has a significant gradient between their 1st and 6th attacker should dodge (when possible) in order to have their best attackers alive for the longest time possible.Pure DPS (= no dodging) is a luxury to whoever can line up 6 attackers nearly as strong as each otherEdit : TDO = Total Damage Output = the total damage your attacker will deal before faintingDPS = Damage Per Second via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2FKCEYi
