"After 2 Years, The Search Is Finally Over"

#PokemonGO: [Story] Back in 2016 on my way home from work I was taking the train and I stumbled upon an Onix! This Onix broke 8 of my poke balls before finally allowing me to be its trainer. Onix has always been one of my favorite rock types because it’s great on its own and even BETTER when it becomes Steelix (My favorite Steel type) so I was extremely happy to have one if my own. After my stop which is the last one, I exit the station and there’s a Valor gym so I battle it to take it down to show off my Onix appropriately named Oliver (This was before we had the gym motivation system we have now) after I do that, a little Horsea pops up and its my first water type I ever caught in PoGo! I caught it and was so happy because Horsea evolves into my favorite water type Kingdra!Me being so excited I forgot that Horsea needs to evolve to Seadra and then Seadra needs a Dragon Scale in order to become Kingdra and in remembering that I also remember I can’t get Steelix unless Onix is given a Metal Coat. Back in early 2016 when I don’t even think we had simple berries back then, I just knew those special evolve items were not coming anytime soon. Both Kingdra and Steelix weren’t even in PoGo yet. Something that night was telling me to save those two for the future because it was no coincidence I find two of my favorites in the same night...I’ve played Pokemon Go off and on through 2017 finding and catching more Onix and Horsea. And By the way, Onix where Im from is pretty hard come by so I did a lot of running out of my house in socks for them! I put down PoGo towards the end of 2017 because as some of you know life hits hard..........I got back into into it in March when I decided I wasn’t going to just sit in my sorrow and self pity and finally act on changes I kept promising myself, and what better way to make those first steps than with Pokemon right? About month or so passes and Im doing SO much better then I was mentally and a little physically as well all because of my desire to be the best, both in the real world and in PoGo world.Around the end of April, early May Im finishing up that 7 day Pokestop thing, I spin the 1st little stop on my route and a Dragon Scale drops out!!! I almost dropped my phone because of the knee jerk reaction I did! My Horsea (Properly named Aurora) was a full fledged Seadra by now and I was about to evolve her right then and there but I remembered that night I caught her, the same night I caught Onix.....Me personally, even though I wanted to so badly, I just couldn’t evolve my Seadra yet not until I had a Metal Coat for my Onix. I always told myself that since they were caught together, they will be evolved together. So I waited and continued on acting like I didn’t even have it.A couple weeks go by, multiple 7 day streaks and still no Metal Coat......Until today 😊 On my walk this morning (I got out a bit earlier to rack up some more stardust before the water event ended) I walked up to my first Pokestop and spun it and the little 7 day jingle starts. I look down and its a bunch of Pokeballs and right as I was about to curse up a storm I closed my eyes just to let the animation finish, I look down at my phone and in one of the bubbles floating....Is a Metal Coat!!!....I screen locked my phone and just sat down on the edge of the sidewalk. I got teary-eyed because after the mental pit I’ve been slowly but successfully crawling myself out of for months prior to getting it; Getting the Metal Coat and finally being able to get one of my all time favorite Pokemon Steelix after 2 whole years after catching my original Onix at the train station was a huge win and sort of like a “You’ve been doing great! Keep up the work” and It felt nice receiving that.I wiped my eyes and finally witnessed the moment I’ve been waiting for for 2 YEARS! Aruora (Seadra) has now been evolved into an amazingly power Kingdra with Waterfall and Outrage, has GREAT IV’s at 96% and Oliver (Onix) is now a huge monster powerhouse of metal known at Steelix with Dragon Tail, and Heavy Slam also with great IV’s and at 98%. I have tons of amazing Pokemon that I love and have trained hard for. But by far, my most crowing achievement are my Kingdra and Steelix. It feels like I’ve watched them grow with me overtime and now they’re at they’re full potential, strong and as powerful as ever. Hopefully I can be at that point in my life someday and I know I will.If you stuck with the story for this long thanks for reading it. I just wanted to share a little accomplishment I made over the course of 2 years and I hope Pokemon Go is making positive changes in your life as it has done me. Good luck out there trainers! via /r/pokemongo https://ift.tt/2yzDcSo
