"It's okay to criticize Gamefreak, you're not a bad person."

It feels so silly to even have to say this, but criticizing a game/person/company or whatever is not morally wrong. It's not being "toxic".This seems to happen whenever fans of a franchise begin to question and criticize the decisions of the developer/author/director or company that makes the product.Bad decisions are made, people get upset about it then all of a sudden like clockwork people pop up trying to morally shame those who dare demand standards and a certain level of care for their favorite franchise.Being angry is okay. Being pissed off is perfectly fine. Using that discontent to push for change is how things improve. Sitting there and taking every lazily mishandled product thrown your way because you're afraid of being "toxic" is a sure fire way to ensure that the quality of the franchise continues to get a little bit worse with each new entry."B-but death threats and harrassment!"Literally every large fanbase will have at least 1 person who makes a threat of violence, or crosses the line in some manner. It's impossible to stop this from happening. But this does not mean that all criticism is violent or unhinged.Using a small minority to write off the arguments or general sentiment of the majority is so dishonest and lazy. All it does impede the wave of energy needed to force a change, or at least make sure those responsible know that fans are displeased. via /r/pokemon https://ift.tt/33wA30t
