"The Pokestalgia Cycle"

So I've just seen 2 "X Generation were the best in the series, the peak of Pokemon, the cream of the crop" and I decided enough is enough, I gonna type until my brain starts cooling off.First off, Gamefreaks approach to individual pokemon games. Where other game franchises seek for every game to better than the last, pokemon isn't only not like that, its against that. GF wants every game to have its own unique flair, so you want to play all the old games and love the franchise as a whole (and also maybe so they don't have to update their remakes much at all outside of visuals). For those that don't remember character customization was at one point planned only for Kalos, because France is trendy and fashionable, CHARACTER CUSTOMIZATION! What this means is that all of us, every single one of us, from Gen 1 fans to Gen 8 fans, get to point at these unique things from the games we grew up with and say "Look! These games have all this unique stuff, THATS WHY I LIKE IT THE MOST!" But in reality, I think we're all kidding ourselves. Everybody here is just nostalgic, and I'm not saying everyone is wrong in their choice, or that the old games stink or anything, their designed to always appeal to you. Its just that Pokemon is structured in such a way that, well, you never forget your first.I love Gen V, they're my favorites. BW were my first games. Do I really think that moving sprites, a focus on story (a story that, lets be honest, the quality of which has been blown out of proportion), and an all new pokemon cast really elevates it above every other game? No.One day people are gonna be talking all about how SwSh were misunderstood, and how they were so innovative and fresh to make Pokemon big. Just like how there are Gen 6 fans right now talking about Gamefreaks innovation with Megas, about how they were so brave to shit all over the metagame with a roster of forms that I can only ever remember half of, and some that I wish I could forget (I'll never forgive GF for what they did to you Heracross).Anyways brains cooling off now so I'm done, basically the moral of the story is that Pokemon is just designed in a way where your first games are almost always your favorites, does that mean the games stink? not at all.
