"Every region should work like unova"

What I mean is that I feel most region should make you only able to play with the new pokemon until the post game, where you can catch and bring over old pokemon. This would not only allow the new pokemon to shine on their own for a little bit, without immediately getting throw into the barrel with all other pokemon, but also be a sweet reward to find old pokemon for beating the game. If you wanna think money wise, making people catch and bond with the newer pokemon only make it more likely for them to buy merch of those new pokemon, rather than just buy merch of their old favorite. And having each region have their own individual pokemon would make the lore of how kanto only have 150 pokemon, as well as no pokemon from other regions, make way more sense.
