"Pay Attention to Your Sandslash, Dugtrio, and Graveler's Movesets. They're All-Stars for Training."

#PokemonGO: I've seen a lot of other people talk about their success with these Pokemon, but I just really want to share my experience. Lately, BugBite/Solar Beam Parasect has received a lot of attention as the go-to Pokémon that most players have which can favorably train a gym with a Vaporeon at the bottom. However, I live in a pretty hot area where Sandshrews, Digletts, Geodudes, Evees and Growlithes are common. As such, Arcanine is a very common Pokémon to see at the bottom of a gym listing. Jolteon and Flareons are very common as well because their average CP generally places them below Vaporeons in Gyms.Because Geodudes, Sandshrew and Digletts are so common, I have a ton of Sandslashes and Dugtrios at a wide range of CP, and a couple Golems. Mud Shot can be used 3 times between dodges against most Pokémon, and Earthquake is insane for DPS. Metal Claw Sandslash is also decent for Fairies and Stone Edge is an OK replacement for Earthquake. The most important thing is that many of the Fire, Electric, and Poison type Pokemon you're targeting with the Ground Type advantage have low defensive stats, so they are already the kind of Pokémon you're going to want to train against. They often die against a weaker Ground type before they can even charge up a Thunder or Fireblast. The potion efficiency is absolutely insane. Yesterday my Dugtrio could beat a Jolteon 3 times per Super Potion for 2k Prestige. With the reduced potion drop rate, I don't even find it worthwhile to train gyms I can't do with at least half that efficiency anymore.TL:DR: Common ground type Pokémon are incredibly effective for training gyms in hot places provided they have Mudshot + Earthquake. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2bnkJNk
