"Why are pokemon quantities based on cell data?"

#PokemonGO: This may be stupid or previously discussed... but I was just wondering why spawn points, and thereby, pokemon spawn density, are based on cell data? Having pokemon density increase where human population density is high would make sense to me if only a single person could catch a spawned pokemon, and then it would disappear to others. But since a pokemon can be caught by every person who encounters it, I guess I just don't fundamentally understand why more spawns are required in densely populated cities. A free to play, casual urban player, simply by virtue of having more humans around him/her, can advance in this game much easier than a paying, dedicated suburban player. But it's not like the increased spawn rates are making up for some other disadvantage the urban player faces. It makes sense that there are more gyms in urban locations since only a finite number of players can use them.Sorry if this is off topic or already discussed, I just hadn't seen it before. And I know it's irrelevant since it's been like this since the start of the game and clearly isn't changing. I just don't know why spawn density wouldn't be the same across every location. Especially since it's counterintuitive that wild pokemon would be abundant in a city of skyscrapers and concrete in the first place. Server space? via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2kItSSZ
