"PSA: It's never a good idea to assume what a game does/doesn't have."

This subreddit is rampant with Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon speculation. That makes sense. Game Freak has been quiet, so people are trying to scratch their itch for new information. That being said, I'm getting really fed up with people discussing what the game will and will not have and treating it as fact:"It will probably be completely different like Black and Whiite 2.""I think they're treating it almost as a new generation or sequel to Sun and Moon.""I have a feeling the Battle Frontier is coming back this time.""They're definitely bringing gyms back."Throwing out ideas is fine. Saying things like "I hope they bring the Battle Frontier back" or "it would be neat if they went all out like they did with BW2" are fine. In fact, that should be encouraged because it lets Game Freak know what kind of content their customers are interested in.That being said, what's not okay is people making predictions like they have a crystal ball sitting in front of you. I've seen this happen with X and Y, ORAS, SuMo, and now USM. People make predictions, they inevitably don't come true because they're baseless, then people get mad and scream "why does Game Freak hate its community?!" while their $90 limited edition sits on their bed.As a quick recap, here's what we know about USM as officially stated:They will feature an alternate storyline. There's some sort of fusion between Solgaleo, Lunala, and Necrozma. We don't even know if the Pokemon on the box art is Necrozma with featrures of the other legendaries or the same legendaries from the first game in an alternate form. There's a new Lycanroc form that's available through an event. That's it. That's all we know. Game Freak hasn't hinted at anything else yet. Is it likely there's more? Sure. Do we know the full extent of what's there yet? Not even close. It's okay to speculate and throw out ideas for the sake of throwing out ideas, but when speculation starts turning into full feldged predictions that people have accepted as truth, the game is guaranteed to be a letdown. It's happened with with every 3DS game entry and it's already starting up with the Switch. Don't let yourself hate a game because it's not the game you imagined it to be. Judge it based on what's actuallly there. A game can have everything you want in it and be terrible, or it can have none of that and be great.Three months from tomorrow, our final 3DS journey begins. Get excited! But not TOO excited ;) via /r/pokemon http://ift.tt/2wbymZt
