"Solo'd my first Machamp (C/CC) with relatively low level pokemons"

#PokemonGO: Long time lurker here, but finally got a reason today to make a post as I completed my first tier 3 raid. (proof)Context I've been a player since the game came out last year, but due to a large break I have only recently hit the level 30 mark. Most of my pokemon are relatively low levelled (highest CP pokemon is a 2502 Rhydon). I've always been very conservative with my resources, especially stardust, so to optimise my resource efficiency I would look at breakpoints, optimal and different movesets, and pokebattler to see how I could most efficiently increase my odds of completing a raid to > 66% (my threshold). After walking some eevees and evolving them into Espeons, and catching a 98% alakazam from a 2 man raid, it felt like I was finally ready to take on a Machamp. Just before dinner today a Machamp raid spawned around the corner, so I decided to go out and make an attempt!Raid In the end, I attempted it 5 times. I did the raid on a Samsung Galaxy S7 and started every time with 178 seconds on the clock. I finished the last attempt with 5 seconds on the timer (see screenshot). My team in order was:PokemonCPATK/DEF/HPMovesetLevelAlakazam213714/15/15C/FS26Espeon21424/0/5C/FS28Alakazam198215/10/12PC/FS23.5Espeon226115/8/8C/P27.5Espeon226715/9/8C/P27.5Espeon20210/5/10 (not entirely sure)C/P26Just before starting the raid, I levelled my first Alakazam from 22 to 26 (as this increased a decent amount of matchups by ~16% and I considered this a worthwhile investment nonetheless) and TM'd the first Espeon to get rid of its Psybeam (also increased certain matchups with ~16%). After failing two times I also levelled my 2nd Espeon from 25.5 to 27.5, for another breakpoint. All in all, I only consider the 4 power ups of the Espeon and the 1 Charge TM as the out-of-the-way investment that I had to make for this to work. After all this, pokebattler assigned a 83.3% chance of clearing this particular moveset.TakeawaysFrom the 4/5 times that I have failed, only once was due to a bug that caused my first Espeon to instantly faint. After several attempts you will recognize important patterns. For example that the first Alakazam can spam attack and use FS, just in time to dodge the first incoming CC.Confusion is a very slow move, which made dodging sometimes quite hard and this was the particular reason I had to restart multiple times. The PC Alakazam, altho being underlevelled, did a lot of damage and its basic move made it very easy to dodge.I know this might not be very impressive for a lot of people here, but as this was my first completed tier 3 solo I was quite ecstatic and I would like to thank this subreddit and pokebattler for helping me come to this point. Keep solo'ing! via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2ykGd83
