"Just finished the Kalos anime -- it was a step in the right direction."
Does anyone else think that the XY(Z) anime seasons were some of the best? The writers went in the right direction with XY(Z) and I hope they decide to go more in that direction in future seasons. They introduced more maturity into the show, in the form of better character development, hints of romance and stronger emotional development between the characters and their Pokemon.Ash stops acting like a ten year old, and more like a teenager. He not only acts smarter and more mature, but is looked up to by his peers and becomes a source of inspiration. Finally, some slight romantic elements are introduced into the show. In addition, Serena was an interesting female lead, and actually goes through significant character development. I would definitely like to see more inter-personal drama in future seasons. I always thought the show would do better if it appealed to a growing demographic. What I loved most about Kanto and Johto were the tear-jerk moments between Ash and his Pokemon. You really begin to feel the bond between him and his Pokemon (Butterfree, Pidgeot, Charizard, Pikachu, Lapras, etc.). This came back in XY(Z) and applied to more than just Ash. You could feel the bond that Bonnie and Serena had with their Pokemon, as well as Ash's bond with Greninja.I'd like to see a reboot of the series where Ash is 17 and decides to try to win all of the Leagues he lost. I'd like to see a more mature, knowledgeable Ash who remembers all of the things he learned in the past 20 seasons. I'd like to see him travel with old and new companions and develop stronger, more mature and intellectual interpersonal relationships. In this hypothetical reboot, Ash is well known in some circles for his previous performances in the Leagues and his work in Kalos, but he's not really famous yet. He's more akin to a promising MIT student working on an interesting project -- some people know of him and those that do think highly of him.I'd like to see him catch up with old friends like Brock, Misty, Dawn, and of course, Serena who are also older and have been "following their dreams" since they last saw each other. I think there's a lot of room for a reboot like this.I've seen about ten minutes of the Sun and Moon anime, and so far, it's clear that the writers took a step backwards in this regard. I could be wrong, since I haven't seen much yet. via /r/pokemon https://ift.tt/2LoI79W
