"Why are double battles the offical format for the VGCs, despite the single battle format being way more prominent in the games and the anime?"

I'm not saying that one is better than the other, especially since I dont really know much about the vgc, I only played pokemon showdown for a while.It just seems weird for me that double battles are the official format for competitive events when they are barely featured in the games or even the anime. I heard that double battles are more balanced than singles because they allow for more variety, is that true?Having said that, a top 4 or champion battle with the vgc format would actually be kinda cool. via /r/pokemon https://ift.tt/wxXjcp3
